Educational Background
Mr. Abubakr Meah graduated from Trinity Christian College with a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in both Political Science and Sociology. In 2009, he was awarded Student of the Year from the Department of Sociology for hosting an academic seminar on religious tolerance between Islam and Christianity. Mr. Meah continued his professional education at Valparaiso University School of Law. During law school he tutored his fellow students in topics such as immigration and employment law. He received his Juris Doctorate from Valparaiso University School of Law in 2013.
Immigration Law Background
Mr. Meah began his law training with a focus on employment based immigration. After extensive training in EB1, EB2, and EB5 visas, he expanded his focus to include family based immigration petitions. After successfully passing the Illinois State Bar in 2014, Mr. Meah joined a Chicago law firm with an emphasis on VAWA petitions and U visas. He recently trained at a firm in Phoenix, Arizona where he was directly involved in removal proceedings and bond hearings.
As a first generation American, Mr. Meah understands the importance of a person’s legal status as it directly affects a person’s livelihood and freedom. He works closely with all of his clients recognizing that even the smallest hurdle can have a serious impact in immigration status.
